“…to present everyone mature in Christ.”
What We Believe
Statement of Beliefs
What we believe about…
There is one God Almighty, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
John 17:3; Revelation 4:11
That Jesus Christ is the true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest Advocate.
John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Matthew 1:18; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 9:24
That the ministry of the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
John 14:26; John 14:17; John 16: 7-11
The scripture, both Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, infallible with regard to faith and practice, and the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21
That the shed blood (the death) of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.
Acts 4:12; Colossians 1:20; Romans 6:5-6; Titus 3:5-7
That man was created in the image of God, but fell in sin and is therefore totally depraved and lost, and only through faith in Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit can eternal salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Titus 3:3-7
The true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.
Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18
Only those who are thus members of the true Church Universal shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18
That water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances given by Jesus Christ and to be observed by His Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means of grace or salvation.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39, 16:31-33; I Corinthians 11:23-25; Acts 22:16
Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His Church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.
Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:25, 32; Hebrews 13:4
There will be a personal, premillennial, and imminent second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
Acts 1:11; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Titus 2:13-14
There will be a future bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
I Corinthians 15; Revelation 20:6; John 5:28, 29

Marla Dervaes Children's Ministry Director
My name is Marla Dervaes, and I was born in Wichita, Kansas on August 16th. I had two wonderful parents growing up; however my mom passed away when I was 28 years old. I have one amazing sister who is still my best friend. I met my awesome husband, Nelson, at our church youth group when I was 16 years old and we have been married for over 30 years! After high school, I attended Kansas State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. My husband and I have two beautiful daughters that we are very proud of. Our oldest daughter, Jennifer, is married to Danny. I’m so happy that they now live in Denver after many years of living in Minnesota. Our youngest daughter, Rachel, just graduated from CSU and also now lives in Denver. She is getting married to Nick in July. My favorite activities are shopping, hiking with my husband and our dogs, and riding bikes with my husband. We bike in the foothills year round three or four times a week, but my favorite bike rides are in the mountains. Several years ago, I told Nelson that I never wanted to ride up Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park because it was too scary on a bicycle…now however; Trail Ridge Road is one of my favorite rides! One of the best things about riding bikes in the mountains is soaking up God’s AMAZING creation!
