What We Believe
Statement of Beliefs
What we believe about…
There is one God Almighty, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
John 17:3; Revelation 4:11
That Jesus Christ is the true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest Advocate.
John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Matthew 1:18; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 9:24
That the ministry of the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
John 14:26; John 14:17; John 16: 7-11
The scripture, both Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, infallible with regard to faith and practice, and the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21
That the shed blood (the death) of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.
Acts 4:12; Colossians 1:20; Romans 6:5-6; Titus 3:5-7
That man was created in the image of God, but fell in sin and is therefore totally depraved and lost, and only through faith in Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit can eternal salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12; Titus 3:3-7
The true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.
Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18
Only those who are thus members of the true Church Universal shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18
That water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances given by Jesus Christ and to be observed by His Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means of grace or salvation.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39, 16:31-33; I Corinthians 11:23-25; Acts 22:16
Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His Church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.
Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:25, 32; Hebrews 13:4
There will be a personal, premillennial, and imminent second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
Acts 1:11; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Titus 2:13-14
There will be a future bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
I Corinthians 15; Revelation 20:6; John 5:28, 29

Christy Zentz Children’s Ministry Director
I am Christy Zentz and I am blessed to be serving as Children’s Ministries Director at Discovery. My heart’s passion is for sharing God’s love with children. My husband, Ralph, and I have been attending Discovery and serving in Discovery Kids since August 2008. We have served in Children’s Ministries for the entire 35 years of our married life, even before we had kids of our own. We also host Discovery’s College and Young Adult Group, The Fort, at our home on Friday nights. We have two sons, Adam and Jared. Adam is married to Elina and they have blessed us with the two most adorable and precious grandsons in the world, Jude and Ezra, who call us Grammie and Papa! Jared is a college student and working full time for the City of Fort Collins. Both of our sons grew up serving in ministry alongside us and we are so thankful that they’re continuing to serve the Lord as adults.
